What is Meckpathways?

MeckPathways is a partnership between Mecklenburg County Government and Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. The program provides students an opportunity to gain professional work experience that connects their classroom experiences and potential career choices. The goal of the program is to provide a variety of opportunities for students to learn about public service professions.

• Application Window: 2/5/25-3/5/25- Sooner Completed the Better

• Internship Dates: 6/11/25-8/1/25- Planned vacation allowed, but should be communicated

• Potential Work Week: 20-40 hours per week

• Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour

Applicant Requirement

​

• Applicant must be a CMS high school junior or senior

• Minimum Age: 16 years old by May 3, 2025

• Must have a Social Security Number

• No experience is required

Meckpathways Application Process (Opens February)

​

• Complete Google Form (Use Personal Email)

• Complete Application- You will receive link after completing Google Form

• Write an essay using the prompt, "I want to work for Mecklenburg County because..."

• Ask a Teacher, Coach, or Administrator to send a letter of recommendation.

• Essays and Letters of recommendation should be sent to Mr. Fotos. strat.fotos@mecklenburgcountync.gov
