IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Unpaid Financial Obligations: Graduation Exercises & Report Cards – Regulation IKF-R, “Graduation Requirements,” and Policy IKAB, “Report Cards/Progress Reports/Transcripts”
-
As in the past, if students owe money to CMS, they may not participate in graduation exercises and may not receive a diploma until the debt is paid. This includes a wide range of debts, such as fees for overdue library books, damaged textbooks, unpaid lunch charges, unreturned uniforms or damage to school property. The fees accrue over the student’s time in CMS.

Suspensions – Regulation IKF-R, “Graduation Requirements,” and Policy JKD, “Suspension and Expulsion”
-
Seniors who are assigned to a period of Out of School or In School suspension that falls on the day of graduation are not permitted to participate in graduation exercises.

Graduation Rehearsal – Regulation IKF-R, “Graduation Requirements”
-
Unless they are excused by the principal, students are expected to participate in graduation rehearsals.

Foreign Exchange Students – Regulation IKF-R, “Graduation Requirements”
-
Foreign Exchange students in CMS do not receive diplomas. Instead, they receive honorary certificates.

Dress/Behavior Codes – Regulation IKF-R, “Graduation Requirements”
-
All CMS conduct rules are enforced for graduation. Many principals also have student dress rules for graduating seniors that are specific to their school. Students who do not follow these rules may be prohibited from participating in graduation exercises.
