DIVERSITY DINNER DIALOGUES (Program Overview)

Diversity Dinner Dialogues is an exciting new diversity awareness initiative for Ardrey Kell students and faculty members.  This program is funded through the Charlotte Hornets Teacher Grant program. The goal of the program is to increase the cultural awareness, critical thinking, and communication skills of AK students.

Diversity Dinner Dialogues involves three steps:

  1. Sign up for a dinner dialogue on either Wednesday, April 19th or Tuesday, May 16th

  2. Read the selected diversity-related book.

  3. Gather for a catered dinner to dialogue about reactions to the text, as well as how to embrace diversity in the AK and Charlotte communities.  The discussions will take place in a large and small group format and led by trained counselors.

PARTICIPANT BENEFITS

Apart from the unique personal and professional development experience, this program will also provide participants with other direct benefits.  All participants will:

  • Receive a free copy of the program’s featured book, “The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates.”
